The goal of preparation is simple: the hair the technologist sees on the photo should be the hair that lands on the scales. Masks, oils and a last-minute dye do the opposite — they hide dryness and change how the fibre behaves.
A week before
In that time the silicone “gloss” that masks dryness can wash off. Do not dye “to look natural”, do not do keratin “so it lies flat on the photo”. For a buyer that is not a plus, it is altered structure. What of this most often cuts the price — in the list of mistakes.
Wash and dry
Wash with your usual shampoo, rinse well, no extra oils. Dry without a hot dryer if you can: towel, comb, air. Wet hair is heavier and looks longer. A fair quote is on dry hair.
Do not straighten curls “to pass as straight”

Photos on the day
Loose from the back, in a ponytail, tape from the future elastic. Daylight, no heavy filters. If you already cut — ponytail on a table with a tape and a separate shot on kitchen scales.
